26 leads. 22 days. ₹2,419. This case study is about what happens when you invest in content first, then build targeted campaigns around it.
₹2,419.79 spent • 26 leads generated • ₹93.07 cost per lead • 5 audience segments tested
Most brands buy ads first, hope content will work. We flipped that. We built the content. Then we found the right audience to show it to.
The context
Our client runs a summer camp at their resort. Swimming, badminton, sports, outdoor activities. The goal: attract working parents looking for a place to send their kids during summer break.
Summer camps are seasonal. Fixed window. Limited budget. No room for guessing. You either reach the right parents or you don’t.
The challenge: summer break is competitive. Every resort, every institute, every coaching center is running ads. Standing out requires content, not just messaging.
The challenge
The problem with most summer camp ads: they’re generic. Stock photos. Copy about “activities” and “learning.” No proof. No personality.
Parents don’t trust ads. They trust stories. They want to see real kids, real activities, real facilities. They want to know what their child will actually do.
Budget was limited. We had to be efficient. No room for wasteful reach. Every rupee had to convert to a qualified parent looking for exactly what we offered.
The approach
We didn’t start with ads. We started with a shoot.
We went to the resort and filmed real summer camp activities. Kids swimming. Kids playing badminton. Kids engaged. Real, authentic content.
From that shoot, we created multiple creatives for different audience segments. Each creative tailored to a different type of parent.
Then we tested five audience segments:
- Parents With (6-8) — Parents with young children, ages 6-8
- Parents With (9-12) — Parents with older children, ages 9-12 (tested in two ad sets to optimize)
- Summer Camp Interest — People actively searching for summer camps
- Working Parents — Parents with young children who work full-time
Each segment got the same quality content. But the messaging was adapted to their needs. Working parents were told about timing and supervision. Parents of 6-8 year olds were shown age-appropriate activities. Parents of 9-12 year olds saw competitive sports.
We ran the campaign for 22 days (April 15 – May 7) — right in the summer planning window.
The results
| Segment | Spend | Leads | CPL | Reach | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Parents With (6-8) | ₹474.86 | 2 | ₹237.43 | 5,137 | Highest CPL |
| Parents With (9-12) – Set 01 | ₹645.60 | 9 | ₹71.73 | 6,882 | Most efficient |
| Summer Camp Interest | ₹539.49 | 5 | ₹107.90 | 5,640 | Moderate |
| Working Parents | ₹531.66 | 7 | ₹75.95 | 6,066 | Second best |
| Parents With (9-12) – Set 02 | ₹228.18 | 3 | ₹76.06 | 1,967 | Limited reach |
| Total | ₹2,419.79 | 26 | ₹93.07 | 19,154 | — |
26 leads from 19,154 reach. Average CPL of ₹93.07.
Two segments stood out: Parents With (9-12) – Set 01 (₹71.73 CPL) and Working Parents (₹75.95 CPL). These weren’t accidents. They were the exact audience we built content for.
The “Parents With (6-8)” segment was expensive (₹237.43 CPL). That data told us something: younger parents either weren’t ready to book or we weren’t reaching the right sub-segment.
The lesson
Content and audience targeting are not separate. They work together.
Most brands do one of two things: they create generic content and hope broad targeting finds the right people, or they target the right people and show them mediocre content.
We did both: we created content that proved what parents wanted to see (real activities, real kids, real facilities), then we tested multiple segments to find which parents responded.
Limited budgets force discipline. We couldn’t afford to run untargeted campaigns or generic creative. We had to be precise. That precision is why ₹93.07 CPL was achievable.
Summer camps (and most seasonal businesses) have predictable windows. You know when parents are planning. You know what they want to know. The job is to reach them with proof — real content — at the moment they’re deciding.
