Banquet Hall Bookings: How We Cut CPL by 85% and Got 42 Leads for ₹1,998

We got 42 leads for ₹1,998. But it didn’t start that way. The first campaign was expensive. The second was smart. This is how optimization changes outcomes.

₹1,998 spent • 42 leads generated • ₹47.59 cost per lead

For event venues, every lead is a potential booking. But getting quality leads at scale is hard. This case study shows what happens when you don’t accept the first result and instead iterate.

The context

Our client runs an event venue — banquet halls for weddings, birthdays, corporate events. Their problem is familiar to most hospitality brands: they needed leads, but budgets were tight. They wanted to test campaigns but weren’t ready for a long-term commitment.

We started small. One campaign to test the waters. But the results told us something was wrong.

The challenge

Campaign 1 taught us what not to do.

We ran the first banquet hall campaign from mid-February to end-March. The budget was ₹3,023.38 over 44 days. The results: 10 leads. That’s a cost per lead of ₹302.34.

That’s expensive. Way too expensive for a venue business where margins matter and booking windows are seasonal.

The campaign wasn’t a failure — it was data. It told us our targeting, creative, or timing was off. We had one job: figure out why and fix it.

The approach

We didn’t throw more money at the problem. We did the opposite.

For Campaign 2, we started fresh. Same objective (leads), different strategy:

  1. Tightened audience targeting. Instead of broad interest targeting, we focused on people actively searching for event venues. Behavior over interest.
  2. Refined creative. Campaign 1’s creative was generic. Campaign 2 was specific. Venue showcase, pricing clarity, and a direct booking CTA.
  3. Condensed timing. Instead of running over 44 days, we ran for 7 days. Shorter, more focused.
  4. Lower budget. We spent less money (₹1,998.86) because we knew better targeting would work harder.

Campaign 2 delivered 42 leads for ₹1,998.86. That’s ₹47.59 per lead. Not just better than Campaign 1 — it’s an industry-competitive number for hospitality lead generation.

The wins: 4.2x more leads, 85% lower CPL, 34% lower spend.

The lesson

Most brands run one campaign and call it done. If it doesn’t work, they either double the budget or give up.

The winning approach: run, measure, optimize, repeat.

Campaign 1 wasn’t wasted spend. It was research. It taught us what wasn’t working. Campaign 2 applied those learnings. Tighter targeting, sharper creative, focused timing.

The math is simple: spend less, get more. But it only happens if you’re willing to be wrong the first time and right the second time.

For event venues, lead quality matters more than volume. A ₹47.59 lead is exponentially better than a ₹302 lead because the conversion rate is higher. People aren’t clicking out of curiosity. They’re clicking because they want to book.
